I found it really odd that your server has to get a registration key from their server
Huh, I didn’t know that, maybe that’s only with the docker image? If not, that’s bad news waiting to happen, I’m afraid :/
Just your typical internet guy with questionable humor

You can buy companies, organizations and people that run FOSS projects, thus buying the project. Audacity was bought and enshitified. SimpleApps suffered a similar fate on Android.
In both cases, the community forked the last “good” version and renamed the project

Not exactly as shown in movies and series, it’s usually that the kingpins buy out cops either as protection or informants, so they get a tip before actual raids happen and either GTFO or plan something different, like leaving an idiot with a small amount of drugs to keep some heat off.
Hell, imprisoned criminals will often sway wardens with their money. It happens quite often in Brazil, with prisoners using cell phones from within their cells.

Rocket.chat would be my first recommendation, tho it looks more corporate aimed. It also claims to support Matrix federation.
You could also give Jami a try, it’s p2p so it doesn’t need servers.

It’s voice chat features are lacking, it has no video chat yet

There’s rocketchat, too, which bills itself more corporately

Until some company buys it and then it has to rename again. Happened to a number of FOSS projects. At least forking and “starting” anew is easier

Wish DeltaChat would work better.
Or that Jami would properly look for new messages after a user configurable amount of time - sometimes it’ll only do that if you restart the app

The what to what that what?

You think you do but you don’t

They can shove that shit together with a razor up their asses
You’re getting significant lag with Generals? I never got anywhere close to that on a ~2012 mid rig, even on a 4v4 match
The game is all about skirmishes. If you’ve ever played total annihilation or supreme commander, matches’ length are close. On small maps, anywhere from 15-40 minutes. Huge maps can take way longer
Where can I get 8 5 1 friend for LAN play? :(

I tried installing matrix once on a VM at work. A lot of work to get it running and it refused to work for some reason. I guess there are better alternatives, something made with xmpp or even rocketchat
How’s the internet access in the country right now? Only people with starlink get to connect at all?

There’s a term called “dependency hell”. Sure, this one dependency is fine, but it depends on 3 other libraries, those 3 depend on a sum of 7 others, etc…

Which ones? I rarely explore all the tools and features that these text editors offer, so I’m really curious
Yes, I alluded to that in the first comment
