I don’t know why I think this way, but the left image looks too hot to eat while the right image looks too cold for it to taste good.

Technology@lemmy.world•Google Chrome is killing all uBlock Origin bypasses, Microsoft Edge, Opera to followEnglish
322·2 months agoMan, I panicked at first because I have to use Edge at work. But this article clickbaited me, as uBlock origin lite is good enough for most people.
Still, screw Chrome, Edge, and Opera for being such dicks. It’s always those three being the bottom tier browsers…
You’re on a newer everything than me, except the hardware. I’m on Fedora 43, with kernel 6.19.11 (or 6.19.12? I don’t remember exactly), and driver version 580.x, with an RTX 5060. I’ll send a pic of the system info once I get home from work.
Note that I can’t update to Fedora 44 currently because my WiFi is borked.
Warning, you might need to hard reboot because it won’t wake up from sleep
Same with motorcycles sadly. They are fairly cheap to buy, especially when used, but the maintenance, insurance, and parking adds up to thousands of dollars quickly.
How did you get sleep to work?
I’m also on Fedora with a 5060 and that’s my only issue after getting it setup and fixing the initial black screen on boot. Runs games and my own CUDA code well.
Just put Fedora on my desktop with an RTX 5060 a couple weeks ago. The Nvidia drivers were easy to install but they borked a bit later and it took me an hour or two to fix unfortunately. And sleep doesn’t work at all.
Still, the Nvidia driver issues are secondary to the WiFi issues that I’ve spent so many hours trying to get work, and every time I think it works for good, it breaks again. I’m buying a dongle with a Mediatek MT7601U and hopefully this fixes the WiFi issues for good.

Technology@lemmy.world•‘Your phone is about to stop being yours': anger brewing among Android fans as major Google app change draws nearEnglish
3·4 months agoIt’s more like:
There are 2 grocery store chains in your city and zero restaurants or other ways to get food not owned by those chains. One already has a supply of only expensive, big-brand products, with nothing organic and very few healthy items The other chain has more independent items that are healthier and more reasonably-priced, as they allowed smaller companies to sell there. Now they are closing the door to these smaller companies, making them appear as a clone to the first chain.

2·5 months agoI’m late to the party, but if you’re new to Civ and looking for which game to start on, ignore the people who say that you need the DLCs for the “complete” experience.
I started on Civ 6, and fell for this, getting a complete edition (at a deep discount). When I tried to play it, I was quickly overwhelmed by the complexity. Now, 80 hours in, I realized I can play with just the base game rules, and that’s what I’ve been doing, and now I yearn for one more turn. I’ll eventually start playing with the DLC rules, but not before I get a good grasp on the base game.

Usually around $300/month:
- $50/month on bagels, my favorite food that I eat way too much of
- $120/month on other food at home like salads, homemade fried rice, and chicken nuggets
- $30/month on snacks like pretzels (it’s an addiction sadly)
- $100/month on going out to eat

E-scooters. They’ve been pretty rapidly getting both cheaper and more capable (longer range, higher speeds). Sadly, most of the innovation seems to come from Chinese companies.
