You’re on a newer everything than me, except the hardware. I’m on Fedora 43, with kernel 6.19.11 (or 6.19.12? I don’t remember exactly), and driver version 580.x, with an RTX 5060. I’ll send a pic of the system info once I get home from work.

Note that I can’t update to Fedora 44 currently because my WiFi is borked.

Same with motorcycles sadly. They are fairly cheap to buy, especially when used, but the maintenance, insurance, and parking adds up to thousands of dollars quickly.

How did you get sleep to work?

I’m also on Fedora with a 5060 and that’s my only issue after getting it setup and fixing the initial black screen on boot. Runs games and my own CUDA code well.

Just put Fedora on my desktop with an RTX 5060 a couple weeks ago. The Nvidia drivers were easy to install but they borked a bit later and it took me an hour or two to fix unfortunately. And sleep doesn’t work at all.

Still, the Nvidia driver issues are secondary to the WiFi issues that I’ve spent so many hours trying to get work, and every time I think it works for good, it breaks again. I’m buying a dongle with a Mediatek MT7601U and hopefully this fixes the WiFi issues for good.

I literally pay the same for Nebula, which is decidedly not my own media. Paying a subscription for your own media playback is so stupid.

I’m late to the party, but if you’re new to Civ and looking for which game to start on, ignore the people who say that you need the DLCs for the “complete” experience.

I started on Civ 6, and fell for this, getting a complete edition (at a deep discount). When I tried to play it, I was quickly overwhelmed by the complexity. Now, 80 hours in, I realized I can play with just the base game rules, and that’s what I’ve been doing, and now I yearn for one more turn. I’ll eventually start playing with the DLC rules, but not before I get a good grasp on the base game.

Gomi, an early $5 iOS game that involved eating successively larger objects until an objective was reached, utilizing the tilt feature. It had so much potential to be a game with a medium to large speedrun/highscore community.

Next time I’m on Linux (I dual boot because I need Windows for checks notes Ethernet to a dev board)

My Internet is so bad that I still often watch YouTube/Nebula at 360p or even 240p. I almost never go above 720p.

The part that gets me is that the unlock is not automatic. I don’t like the fact that it is now for a year but now also Verizon has the upper hand to just refuse the unlock to anyone they don’t like.

I’ve been using Lemmy less because it’s so depressing. It feels like a majority of the engagement is with depressing US politics and a strong left bias (to be clear, I also hate the current government). Unlike most, I really like most of the nerdy tech content.

Which is why I’ve been lurking more on Hacker News lately, it’s tech minded forums with an appropriate level of politics and more nuanced takes. And as a bonus the interface even less bloated (in terms of resource usage) than any Lemmy frontend I’ve tried.
