i should be gripping rat

If you don’t want to play mainstream multiplayer games, it should be pretty painless for you! Obviously we don’t know yet what Valve will reveal, but if they announce a new “Steam Machine” that is basically a Steam Deck in desktop form, it should be pretty smooth! I hear there are some games that require some Linux finagling, but everything has guides online.

Sometimes you are in the cult of a cult classic, and so that game feels like one of the best ever. I will still come out and say the same about my old faves, like Guild Wars 1 or Phantom Dust. I exaggerate to express how good I think these games were!

That is the implicit message of the article.

lord, if only we lived in a world where things made sense…

i mean, if they have a Series X and it still runs all the modern games, there ain’t a strong reason to upgrade at exactly this moment. That console will keep chugging along for a few more years at least.

they don’t make disturbing kid’s content like they used to.

ehhh i hear you, “abandonware” can be defined as “software which is no longer supported or updated”, but that is a very broad definition. I think one could also define abandonware as “software which is no longer supported or updated, and which has no clear IP owner anymore”, and I think that that is the colloquial definition for a lot of people. I think we need a new word for one of these two definitions.

What do you love about it over something like, say, the standard Xbox controller? That’s what I use for PC and it’s been very reliable.

The rumor is that the next Xbox will also just be a gaming PC. If Microsoft has an offering similar to Valve, except it’s on Windows so there is better game compatibility, does that not entice you to stick with Xbox?
(tbc I’m not saying you should stick with Xbox - M$ is morally bankrupt and Windows 11 is a bloatware-ridden mess. Just inviting you to elaborate on your thinking, if you want to)

time to go buy an old cow-colored HP computer off ebay just to make it work!

dude 3D movie maker was my shit. Glad to find another former movie maker stan - I used to put entire evenings into making stupid little animations. That was the game that taught me what it feels like to be completely immersed in a creative project. McZee still haunts my nightmares, tho…

3D Movie Maker? Casino Inc? Theme Park?

it’s in the title, bro.

It was a real gem. I haven’t gone DEEP on it before, but I’ve really enjoyed what I played of it.

The record is for time from announcement to release. ES6 was announced 7 years ago, so we’re getting there but not quite. It might still break the record by the time it comes out…

I think a game has to actually release to break this record. And in the article, Purchese points out that the current record holder is Duke Nukem Forever, while Beyond Good & Evil 2 might break the record if it ever actually comes out.

At least in that case, the devs have presented playable content. I don’t think I would count that if I was trying to determine the record.

Hmm I’m not sure about contributing. You’ve presented yourself as someone too broke to afford a VPN so I didn’t think you were buying CDs and ripping flacs. Sorry if I misunderstood your goals. I was more focused on the goal of obtaining files.
Edit: ps, not sure if you saw yet, but I pm’d you about another possible solution.

If they haven’t divested yet, they have no morals and no common sense. Or they are betting on a more friendly future for Nazis. Either way, I think we need to stop caring what Tesla investors think. They’re all Nazi sympathizers at this point.
