I got suspended recently and it wasn’t even at the review of a human it said it was from one of their automation bots… I feel just like Wikipedia Reddit centering a s*** stage where it’s editing mechanisms are horrid and some cases authoritarian…
I left reddit mere days before the latest wave of policy changes / crackdowns started.
The writing’s been on the wall for a while though. Mechanisms that support karma farming. Unsatisfying and opaque algorithms*. Too many bots.
* How does this work on Lemmy btw, is there some docu on it specifically?
You’ve gotten good links but I just want to emphasize how there is no running karma aggregate on Lemmy and it’s great. I would make a new reddit account a couple times a year or when I hit 10k because then I would then notice it and it made me uneasy.
I still like to see my posts/comments be well received here but I appreciate that each stands on its own merit.
