Correct, it wasn’t about agreeing to invade and divide Europe. You’re conflating the two, but they aren’t at all the same.

Well it was an agreement to divide Europe. Invasion ended up happening in lots of places to further solidify that sphere of influence. So very closely connected.

No, lol. It was an agreement that if war broke out, the Nazis and communists would stick to their areas. First, neither expected it to last, and second, it isn’t an agreement to invade Europe.

              You’re implying

              1. That the Soviets intended on invading Europe, and having the pact last

              2. That the Soviets wanted to invade.

Neither is backed up by the facts at hand.

I don’t know about those, I just know what happened in that they did divide Europe to those spheres if influence and did end up invading or otherwise incorporating the mentioned areas. Not just the Soviets but the Nazis too.

They didn’t, though. They went to war to stop the Nazis, the only time it came into use was when the Nazis invaded Poland and the soviets prevented them from taking all of Poland.

The dividing into speheres of influence and subsequent actions in those spheres all happened. Not just Poland but elsewhere. You’re more arguing about justification, which is different matter.
