“liberals” being whatever you need the term to mean in the moment.
The politics understander has trouble believing US democrats are in fact, liberals.
Sure, today you mean top Democrats, tomorrow you mean anyone a hair to the right of Marx.
If the person that is a hair to the right of Marx defend capitalism surprise surprise he is a liberal.
