“Sadly” they can’t do anything. There are other similar projects, they don’t have the IP of Nintendo and require the rom for the assets

Probably has the same legal “protections” as Ship of Harkinian and the like - it requires you to own the ROM, and they are not profiting off of this work (at least not openly and brazenly). They are not bypassing any encryption using proprietary keys, and they are not redistributing any copywrited assets.

Nintendo is going to have a rough time of it in US court.

They can just do like they did for Switch emulators. Just send a threatening email. Even if they actually sued and lost, the lawsuit would ruin their innocent victim.

This is cool I wonder if it will work with a Smash Remix modded rom. Maybe I will test it out.

Also the title is not accurate it’s not a PC port it’s a multi-platform decompilation.

EDIT: it does not work with Remix. But it does work for the original game. I don’t know enough about decomp/recomp to know if it can or should work to load mod assets. It seems if it loads in the emulator it should load by the compiled code. But the recompile effort might have used for loops in place of while loops which might still work for the particular game assets but lot a mod.
