I'm an open source developer who distributes my apps both on google play, and f-droid. I'd like to be part of this effort, and it would really help for google to see how many open-source developers...
It’s a really good idea, if anything can truly make Google think twice about implementing this, it’s them losing apps from their store that the community loves and might jump ship to F-Droid in order to install.
It’s obvious that they don’t give a damn about software distribution freedom, it’s specifically what they want to kill by doing this, so words alone will never be enough.
Thx. Yep so far the strategy has been “contact your regulators emails”, which doesn’t have much affect, since google can easily ignore those. Having many devs go on strike and promise to remove their apps from google play, is much harder to ignore.

i was under the impression that fdroid was going to be hit hard by this since most of their apps are noncompliant w this change; how am i wrong?
