I’ve been slowly working my way towards starting a podcast. I know my theme and I have ideas for the first couple episodes, but I’m looking for more in-depth guides through the technical parts of the process. I can research and find open source audio editors, I have access to a good mic setup, and I can write a script, record it, and edit it. My concern is more of the release side. I’m aware that the podcast ecosystem runs via RSS, but I’m looking for a sort of walkthrough of this last leg of the process. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
It’s actually pretty easy if you can get a website running with WordPress (lots of easy options out there).
All you need to do once you have that element sorted you can link spotify, iTunes, etc.to.your site (you just need a login) and you’re away.
Over covid my wife and I podcasted for our own pleasure (and the mild amusement of our mates) and all I needed was some managed hosting and an internet connection to get it running.
