The Trump administration will soon announce sharply lower vehicle fuel-economy standards, reversing a push by the prior administration to force automakers to build more fuel-efficient vehicles, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said Monday.

I am not really sure what it means. The CAFE standards we had encouraged larger, less fuel efficient vehicles and discouraged smaller, more efficient ones.
While I wanna shout at the headline, fuel economy standards are something we need to revisit anyway.

Most americans don’t pay attention to this, but it’s pretty insane.
Unfortunately, the U.S. car norms influence Canada. Because Canadian officials copy american car norms. It’s the reason why they drive the heaviest and least efficient cars in the world

If anything, this is the stupidest response to the fuel crisis 🤣
