Very excited to have Super Breakout. Growing up we had the first Breakout, but I only ever hear people talk about this sequel nowadays. Now I’ll get to see what the hype is about! Space Jockey is cool too, but I’m awful at it 😅

    Oh interesting to see Space Jockey using the Motter Tektura font from Apple’s early days. Copyright is 1982, so they were definitely cashing in, as Apple had been using this font for their logo for nearly 5 years by that point.

      Breakout had tennis players in the artwork, but Super Breakout is in space? 🤷

      Sounds like the artist was going for depicting the color bars as a forcefield to give them physicality, and also liked the visual of them being reflected in the astronaut’s helmet.

        Science fiction was getting a huge boost at the time. Star Wars was released the year before. Battlestar Galactica started in 78. Invasion of the Body Snatchers, the Donald Sutherland/Jeff Goldblum one, was also 78. Alien would also come out in 79.
