The article doesn’t indicate any contact from thieves seeking a ransom. I imagine they’d get more money for it on the black market than they would w a ransom anyway. With that said, French gov spends money of crazy stuff all the time so who knows?
They can’t sell famous paintings. Anyone buying them can’t show them anywhere either. It’s too hot to sell. It’s usually insurance scamming or ransoming them according to a recent article about a similar theft that just happened from some siciliain church in messina by the guardian I think, maybe reuters.
except for their personal yachts and to their likeminded friends – something that no longer exists on social media and goes to prove that practices are more effective at curbing social media than any law could ever be.
