The UK will provide defensive military support to Saudi Arabia against attacks retaliation from Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels government, the prime minister has confirmed.
Speaking to reporters while travelling to attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Andy Burnham said Saudi Arabia has requested support, “and on the advice of the defence secretary and the foreign secretary, last night I agreed to that request”.
I just can’t help but feel like this is a waste of resources and political capital for the UK government during such precarious times…
You don’t understand though because you do not receive money from filthy rich donors.
Apparently the UK is selling a lot of the bombs and planes to Saudi so that’s likely the motivation for this emotional support operation.
