Oh, wow. Though I wonder if it is regional or maybe it only works when you connect from hotel’s IP I just tried it and YouTube didn’t ask me for anything (I was not logged in either). I also use uBlock, which I suppose could potentially block that, depending how the block is implemented.
BTW: the videos I found on YouTube didn’t work with my TV, I truck duck duck go (also did not need to prove who I am) and first page had a working combo.
Oh, the one I have is a Samsung something or other, I think like 32 inch diagonal, was donated to my roommate from a food pantry donation center. Not about to dig it back out of the closet right now though.
I have not only a universal remote, but also a modded PSP1001 with irShell, and yes I have the knowledge to reverse engineer the infrared protocol, even to the point of finding factory codes that don’t even exist on the original remote.
Anyways, I don’t think this is a regional thing, it’s more of a lockout, like no HDMI, no RCA, no antenna TV, no channel searches, you just get the standard hotel preprogrammed cable TV with like only 6 channels.
All the other features exist, just locked out in the current state. Not parental lock either, I verified the parental lock code as default 0000, so the Hospitality Mode is something different altogether.
I’ll see about getting back to it sometime next week, I don’t wanna be flagged for searching info on this too much in the same day. I might try searching on DuckDuckGo and Grayjay sometime next week.
