I just watch summaries for two reasons

    1. I don’t have the time to sit down for two or more hours to watch a story that’s riddled with plot holes
    2. Due to poor sound and visual editing from the last decade, I don’t have the patience to squint to see and read everything on subtitles

if I’m going to read anything it’s going to be a book or a foreign film that’s at least original and edited well.

I ain’t gonna disagree on this point.

But I will say not knowing about whatever popular franchise isn’t a crime. And I’m tired of people pretending like they have to “keep up” with everything even if they have no real interest in it.

absolutely not a way for me to keep up with the Joneses. more of a curiously scratching an itch if the movie is even worth making time for. surprise, 99% are not.

Those are two (perfectly valid) reasons for not watching full-length films, but they’re not reasons to watch summaries. Watching the summary is worth it if you enjoy that experience, but even as another soul who barely watches any movies I am kind of curious myself to understand the appeal.

I eat breakfast and lunch at my desk. while I eat I watch a recap.

I actually have been watching less since most of them have been using AI to narrate and it does a shit job at it.
