    Very stupid investors?

EV sales are flat or shrinking in the US (but growing extremely quickly outside the US, partially thanks to the Hormuz situation). Tesla’s sales are flat. He’s doing anything possible to show that Tesla has a future.

So, he basically told his talented engineers to take the stabilizing parts of a SpaceX rocket, put them in the body of a car, and pretended that what was demoed is actually vaguely related to something people might be able to buy at some point.

There isn’t a chance that a vehicle with those kinds of thrusters would ever be road legal. You’re basically driving a pretty large bomb around. You crash that vehicle and you don’t just kill yourself, you kill everybody within a pretty large blast radius.

Tesla sold a car for years with no way to open the back seat doors in the event of an emergency.

US regulators allow Tesla to do anything.

There is a way. Not practical, but if you pry off the speaker cover, there is a release cable.

        I blame regulators.

The Model X had it under a speaker cover. The model 3 didn’t have it listed in the user manual. Fans discovered under a rubber door pocket cover, you could remove a flushed mounted plastic tab and fish out a pull wire to open the door.

It wasn’t until 2024 that Model 3’s got a door release.

Idea: in case of emergency the user can download a 400 mb app and after login + otp verification can see where is the emergency door opening tab

Strange. Maybe it’s a Europe thing, but my 2020(?) M3 has a little mechanical lever you can pull to open.

E: both front and back like nop’a 2018 model 3 in the response below

A car that maybe you (or your passengers) can’t get out of and might die is different from a car that’s basically a bomb on wheels.

It’s a shame because my wife and I are saving up for an EV but I’m worried by the time we’re ready the models won’t be there. They’re already cutting the Hyundai Ioniq 6. Our top contender.

Buy used. They will still be serviced at repair shops and you can get a 2year old EV for half the price of new.

Companies are scrambling to start making more hybrids and EVs now with gas prices so high and EVs in such high demand.

Don’t be a prick dude. The person mentioned having a wife, that might include kids, and at least they’re looking into getting an EV instead of a 4 door short bed V8 pickup truck that will never see a day of work. Pick better targets

It does include kids. And the in-laws are a highway away.

I don’t drive daily to work and use public transit and walk when I can, but we do every now and then need to drive somewhere. The E-Bike doesn’t work there.

            Are you fucking kidding?

Targets? I lightheartedly suggest someone get an e-bike, and suddenly you think they’re a “target”?

The fact that someone has a wife means that they can’t buy an e-bike on the off chance that they might have kids?

Fuck, man. What the hell is wrong with you? What the hell is wrong with your country. People are so car-brained that merely light-heartedly suggesting an e-bike is considered an attack? You have some serious fucking issues.
