    Well, TikTok made an estimated $9.4B in revenue in 2022 making that fine 3.7%. That’s pretty big.

    If it’s not percentage based that’s just the cost of breaking that law if you feel like it.

      Because 3.7% of their (last year’s) yearly revenue totally isnt important at all, nope! It’s not like it’s 0.3% from the fine’s maximum allowed percentage of 4.0% or anything.

      Datenschutzgrundverordnung (DSGVO) is called general data protection regulation (GDPR) in english, so data protection seems to be fitting for the context.
