I was shopping around for cards relatively recently so I have looked up some data on power consumption of these cards. 9070xts that rival 5070 tis are typically OC models in 350W territory. However these numbers aren’t all that useful as they are only maximums. Real consumption will vary heavily from game to game and even setting to setting. For example in cyberpunk at 1440p with almost max settings with RT (but no path tracing) my 5070 ti is showing its consumption to be around 180W, if I turn on DLSS5 it goes to around 250W, still a bit from the 300W limit. I only saw it hitting the limit in furmark, but that is designed to do that. I’d expect similar behaviour from other cards, including AMD.

Considering that computer graphics have always been full of tricks any new tech should be judged based on what it achieves and at what cost first and foremost instead of being dismissed solely on how it works. So far I’ve only tried the leaked version in stalker 2 and I also think that it has potential but currently there are graphical artifacts, also there are instances of characters looking noticeably different and the fps hit is not particularly small either. For the record I am using 5070 ti and running the game at 1440p native/ DLAA.

I’d expect it to not run at all, no? Otherwise why are we not seeing ddr5 only mobo/CPU compatible ddr4 sticks?

Even local only (which you know won’t be the case here) is an issue. It still allows one to record stuff that one shouldn’t.

Yes you do, unfortunately. After that you don’t have to have an internet connection however. Since I am only streaming games from pc this arrangement works for me.

On my Oculus quest 2 I blocked all Facebook domains, it’s the best thing I’ve found so far. And I regret not doing it earlier, the most recent update that got pushed to it has a hideous UI on to if so the old bugs that remain unsolved…

From what I’ve seen they are leading in power consumption as well. Yes, 5090 is more power hungry than any AMD consumer GPU right now but it also comes with adequately higher performance.

By now there are several generations of 502’s, from what I’ve seen online the earlier ones used more durable switches. I’ve used Proteus spectrum myself for close to 8 years and all buttons still work fine. And if say it was used quite heavily, both for gaming and WHF. I’ve only replaced it now because it was ugly and the rubber on the sides is gone completely in some spots.

Afaik they use the same type of memory as phones do, variants of LPDDRx. “Unified” does not denote a different type, it means that both the GPU and the CPU can use the same memory (similarly to integrated GPUs using the main system ram).

Without the system you’d have zero chance to buy one, all would be gone the millisecond it’s up. All bought by bots watching the page constantly.

How is that card even used if it doesn’t have a number? Can you use it only physically with payment terminals? I have a debit card and it can be used just like credit card but without the loans part obviously.

Afaik never (or at least not with the current versions) because HBM has to be directly connected to the GPU or CPU die via an interposer, it’s not something you can slot into a mainboard.

Tbh the issue is price, newer cards are both quite a bit more powerful and power efficient. Went from 1080 to 3070 ti and now 5070 ti and each upgrade was a significant step up. Going straight from 1080 to my current card would be an insane jump. BTW this is based on performance I’ve seen in games, not benchmarks.

Seems like they either have inconsistent quality or it went down over time. My 6-7 years old g502 is from a mechanical standpoint in perfect shape, I’ve just worn out the rubber sides and had to replace its feet once. I’d even say it’s seeing fairly heavy use considering I use it for both work and gaming.

I have no clue. If it were up to me I’d enable it by default or have some dialog popup after you first connect a new gsync capable screen where you could set it up.

Tech illiterate people are screwed either way because windows will leave their high refresh rate screens at 60Hz (unless something has changed).

I just checked, it’s 5 (or 6 if it’s not your main display) clicks to enable gsync, nothing hard.

1. Click on “show hidden icons” (bottom right thingy in the taskbar to roll out list with NV control panel, idk how it is called)
2. Click on Nvidia control panel
3. Click on setup gsync from the left list from display group (another click to select the correct screen possibly)
4. Click on enable gsync at the top
5. Click apply and you are done. Compared to setting up lightboost on screens that officially only support it in 3D this is simple.
