Well I can eat a whole Hot and Ready on my own and then do a minute-long fart the next day.

Thanks for taking a second to research that. Maybe my search results are skewed for some reason because i double checked before posting that comment. Weird. I’ll think about it more.

Everybody always goes on and on about how great linux is for gaming pcs these days. I recently poked around online to see if my rtx5070ti would be supported and found a bunch of people facing issues, and that Mint and Ubuntu weren’t recommended.
I dont want the AI nonsense, and Windows/Microslop blows, but I want my new gaming laptop to work correctly for several years given the money I spent on it. I can’t see making the switch when the gpu support is so convoluted.
Ive had many Linux machines in the past, so that bums me out.
Edit: someone should make a webpage that automatically reads the hardware and specs of your windows machine and then creates a table of suggested distros. That table should also include “what you’ll lose” that shows which features will become lost or finicky. And it should also include direct download links.
If the goal is to have morons like myself adopt it, it needs to be basically fool proof and easy. Linux is much better and easier than it was in 2003, but that doesn’t mean it’s two-click easy.

Not cringe, but cliche yeah.
I also have noticed the trope of Crossword puzzles being a sign of brilliance/intelligence (Brooklyn 99, Stranger Things for example). Let me tell you something – i do multiple crosswords daily to keep my hands and mind busy, and i’m a friggin moron.
The Zero G sex in the first episode of The Expanse was fun and memorable.

If only Brian Dennehy would listen to him, so many deputies’ lives could be saved.

I don’t know that one. Use it in a sentence that’s between three and seven words long.

It’s not a lost word like dotard, but ive always liked referring to him as braggadocios. People don’t say that word aloud much at all.

From 2017:
"In his bellicose statement Thursday, Kim also repeatedly referred to Trump as a “dotard” — an arcane term for a senile or weak-minded elderly person.
“I will surely and definitely tame the mentally deranged U.S. dotard with fire,” Kim said.

I’m all in on no limits for free speech. The government’s job is to provide services, not determine and police morality. And hate speech does not have a concrete definition, so it’s a moving target (the government could define talking shit about Republicans as hate speech and make it illegal, for example). I don’t like Nazis or racism or homophobia, but i like the idea that you are legally allowed to say nazi, racist or homophobic shit and I can hear it and choose to shun you.
I’m glad Canada is there for you with their rules if that makes sense to you. Not everybody has to agree with no limits on free speech – plenty of places to live with mostly free-ish speech laws.

I recently fixed a phantom/ghost problem in my GMC acadia by replacing the touch glass for about $100. It was easy peasy. Had I taken it to the dealership, I assume it would have been a $1000 repair as they would have replaced the whole head unit rather than just the warped glass.

Nothing I can do? If I drive my car at higher rpms, wont that make the engine hotter thereby also heating the coolant faster?

I wouldn’t pay money for access to AI. The convenience is not worth a single cent to me. But am I the average person? Is the average person sold on this nonsense enough to subscribe to it? The first hit is free to get you hooked. So if the plan is to get the average person dependent on it while it’s free and then eventually charge for it, i’m not buying and I wonder how many people will. AI output is fucking garbage.

I still use ME. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

It could also be solved by everybody putting the seat and lid up. This will be an eternal debate.

Goodbye Lenin is fantastic.
The Lives of Others is amazing too.
I think these polls are good to put our opinions on the public record.
