First OSish was what came default with the Commodore 64. My first full fledged OS was Windows 3.11. My first Linux distro was Mandrake I think 6.
Just a grey muzzle

Let this be the hour when we draw swords together. Fell deeds awake. Now for wrath, now for ruin, and the red dawn. Forth, Eorlingas!
RIP good king
Started playing Fallout 76 for the first time this week. Been having fun so far. I’m glad I waited for the game to get this far in content.
How is Linwarrior 3D? Has anyone played it? It claims it’s an open source game similar to MechWarrior 2.
Learned basic on that thing as well. I remember having a magazine subscription that included a program in the center fold. Then saving it to a cassette tape to enjoy later. Lol
A commodore 64 joystick. Next was the NES controller.
Sad to hear. Just learning about this game from your post. Looked like a good RTS.
I third that motion. Doing similar with a T440p. I’ve spent $400 total between upgrading the CPU to a 4712 and putting 16g of RAM. Running WoW happily every night on Debian. Second hand Thinkpads are the way to go.
Posting to remind myself later to check this. I also restarted my usage of an rss reader, and I feel I’m out of knowing what the good feeds are.
Not sure how to put it on a Mac, but I don’t think any os is better than others. Windows, Linux, and MacOS to me is just like picking a flavor of ice cream. They all do the job, but what are you willing to tolerate?
Now I know that’s over simplified but that’s really how I look at it.
Similar story here. I flipped from Windows 10 to Elementary OS a few weeks back, and have opened Steam to play games way more than I ever have.
I think the change of scenery help rekindle my desire to play games.
Congrats on the move. I did the same to Linux Mint and have loved the experience completely. Gaming has been amazing due to Proton and Vulcan.
