43·9 days agoThere does seem to be a sentiment of wanting food stamps gone, because that’s a program abused by non whites and immigrants, but SNAP must remain because they depend on it. Then being shocked it’s the same thing and it’s all gone now. Same with Obamacare and ACA.

2·13 days agoIt’s good at making up realistic looking fake data for testing and mock-ups, instead of the usual Person A in Town B.
Small scripts also work out as long as they’re small enough to print on a piece of paper.
Writing some sales fluff in a document also works reasonably well.
But those are just niche applications. For something serious it’s not really usable so far.

The history how Vietnam tells it is such a contrast. It boils down to colonizers trying to take their land and they pushed them out. Also with USA basically saying to France: “step aside, I’ve got this.” and then losing.
