I sort of think that the only way to make visa/mastercard reverse course is to boycott the fuck out of them. Go back to using cash to make EVERY purchase. Purchase physical copies of games every time with cash. (I’ve been able to link games to my steam account purchased this way.) No longer buy skins and loot crates, and battle passes. Same goes with media. Go back to hard CDs for music/movies. Starve them of income any place you can, which would fuck with the business models of so many other companies that want your debit and cc on file for streaming services and subscriptions.

Our cat gets fed small amounts 4x a day for the same reason. You feed him and 15 minutes later he’s begging for more food. I’ve been working on extinguishing begging behavior by fucking with him relentlessly. He comes over to beg, and I act like I’m walking to the kitchen, then at the last second veer off to the bathroom. Or I will walk to the kitchen and pretend I’m going to open the cupboard where his food is, only to veer off at the last second and open the glass cupboard and just get a drink of water instead. Usually after 15 - 30 minutes of trolling him, he stops begging and goes back to napping.

I moved out of my last shitty apartment because the entire thing was wired to two 15amp fuses. If the Fridge compressor happened to kick on while I was cooking on the electric stove and had like the microwave also going it would blow a fuse. My new apartment has circuit breakers, but things aren’t much better. The stove and fridge are on their own circuits. However all of the outlets are on a single breaker. If I try to run the AC in the bedroom at the same time as the living room it trips. It’s rage inducing.

My coworker’s husband works in a target warehouse. He started on the floor and moved his way up to supervisor. They get differential pay for working night or weekend shifts. The husband’s differential pay was just reduced, which fucks up my co-worker’s ability to potentially pay their mortgage and put a child through college. She was like, “I don’t understand why they are doing this.” I had to explain that Target’s decision to end DEI alienated their main customer base, may of which stopped shopping there. For those that aren’t boycotting Target, they are reducing spending because of economic uncertainty. I told her Target is circling the drain and her husband should find another job. I said the next step up the rung would be to work in logistics, but considering our current tariff policy in the US, we are about to fuck ourselves out of lots of trade, which will negatively impact logistics in general as an industry.
