Eh. I don’t use bsky, and think most current ICE staff should be imprisoned for terrorism for the rest of their lives, but I don’t want any communications services to decide which entities should and shouldn’t be verified. That’s how you end up with power-tripping mods, propaganda bubbles, and censorship (exactly what fascists are doing with X, fb, tiktok, etc).

The goal should be an open protocol where users/orgs can sign messages cryptographically (like PGP) and every other user can decide which users, feeds, or algos they subscribe to without censorship. Like, if I subscribe to my friends and family (trusted sources), or friends of friends, I don’t want any form of moderation between them and me, but the freedom to sub to moderated topics is also necessary for public (untrusted sources) feeds/comms.

  • I do not support the government killing civilians under any circumstances, but I sure do support civilians killing their criminally corrupt governments.

Fascism is what you get when the people in power can commit crimes without fearing for their freedom or lives.

As the average is dumb, let me be clear… No moral or ethical person should support violence or murder in a society of LEGITIMATE laws and justice systems that are applied EQUALLY (nobody is above the law; regardless of wealth, status, position, optics or power). If your goal is retribution, vengeance, pain or suffering then it is not a just or moral stance. The entire point in a rule of law is threat reduction and risk mitigation, to enable a prosperous & just society FOR EVERYONE. It is everyone’s duty to oppose unjust laws, and the systems that enable and protect them; especially predators of the weak and vulnerable (e.g. pedophiles).

  • This isn’t the American people. It’s the will of thousands of the world’s most powerful multinational oligarchs — billionaires and old money millionaire elites (plus all their class-traitor lapdogs and puppets) — who are actively corrupting ALL politics and public discourse; waging class warfare, globally.

Murdoch is one of the most well-known examples, but I’m sure there are hundreds (if not thousands) of fossil fuel and military contractor investors or board members — you’ve never heard of — who are criminally corrupt psychopaths that deserve to be in the dirt.

These people’s only allegiance is to the almighty dollar. They have no real virtue, morals, or ethics.

  • I also find it hilarious that every global multinational offshored everything they possibly could to China, thus their own operations are directly subsidised by the CCP and Chinese labor, yet they cry foul when consumers buy from them directly.

“Sure we cut 90% of our western workforce, dramatically reduced the quality of jobs and pay for the remaining 10%, directly financing and empowering the CCP for decades, and kept all the profits for ourselves, but consumers are the terrible ones for not supporting our skeleton onshore operation (which we will automate 100% of if able to)”

  • This is not “pettiness”. This is all part of a multi-generational psychological warfare operation to brainwash the working class and implement totalitarian dictatorship — started by the Koch Bros, Roger Ailes, Rupert Murdoch, and other wealthy narcissists several decades ago — and the fascists are winning; facilitated by “liberals” who are mostly a manufactured opposition, financed by the same corporations/oligarchs.

No war but class war, and the capitalist class is winning.

  • It’s literally just the network effect. At this point most of the user base probably has an account to keep track of birthdays, organise occasional social events, sell shit on marketplace, etc. That’s why they bought Instagram. FB was rendered irrelevant through enshittification.

As with messaging, if all of the big tech cartels were forced to implement an open source protocol that enabled users with data portability and interoperability, then the platforms would have to directly compete, and their value would drop 100x. Their only value is the closed network and holding user data hostage.
