There will be no end of the term. Fascism doesn’t just step aside when it’s term ends.

World News@lemmy.world•Woman who planned to sell human toes regurgitated by dogs pleads guilty in Melbourne courtEnglish
4·7 months agoBasically she took evidence and used it to create an ‘oddity’ to sell it as such. It’s a fairly thriving industry (oddities).

Bonus points, we can direct the idiots to start digging for them, then use the excavations to start building underground. It’ll massively reduce the power need for AC due to global warming, and it would free up a ton of space for solar.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What instrumental song, when listening to it, causes your mind to try to fill it with lyrics the most?English
51·7 months agoIt’s kind of cheating, but [Popplagið] by Sigur Rós. I’d argue that the vocals in it are instrumental, since they’re in a made-up language consisting of gibberish words.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you put in first: Teabag or hot water?English
61·7 months agoDo you have any statistics regarding how likely a water eruption is? Because I microwaved water daily for nearly a decade without issue.
The turnstile removes most of the risk because super heating is a lot more difficult with moving water. Plus, most glasses aren’t perfectly smooth and have plenty of imperfections to provide nucleation points.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you put in first: Teabag or hot water?English
31·7 months agoI think explosions were more common with microwaves that don’t have turnstiles. The movement of the water helps prevent super heating to that point.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you put in first: Teabag or hot water?English
3·7 months agoIt’s because the microwave gets the water a bit hotter than boiling. Just give it like 15 seconds and it shouldn’t foam.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you put in first: Teabag or hot water?English
22·7 months agoYou know you can wait like 15 seconds before opening the microwave and putting something in, right? Even with my electric kettle I give it a few seconds before doing anything.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you put in first: Teabag or hot water?English
422·7 months agoI’m not sure why the hate for microwaves exist. It’s literally just another method for making water move fast. It has absolutely no impact on the final product, as hot water is hot water no matter the heat source.
