I hate this argument.
If they’re not paying their fair share of taxes then leaving is beneficial. It’s like saying “yeah but if you ask the thieves to pay for their stolen goods they might leave the store”

I used to have to pull an all nighter 1-2 times per week for a terrible job I had. Typically 26-30 hours, so not quite the big one you’re looking at.
If you’re in a car for part of it, or otherwise idle, take some naps! A few 20 min naps will completely revitalize you for some time. Apart from that, light physical and mental stimulation goes a long way
It’s just a buzzword volly to get people to want to surrender more data. Actually insane premise lmao
I have done a bunch of runs each update and I do kinda wish I did what you did.
You’re gonna be blown away by how much more there is already!
No.
I live in Denmark but used to live in the US. I see a LOT of the Danish flag around (Dannebrog 🇩🇰) but it’s a lot less nationalistic. The level of “I love my country” is a bit weird but it’s the “it’s the best country and all others suck and wish they were us” that’s incomprehensible.
I think David Cross said something like this:
If you’re in Europe and someone tells you how your country sucks and isn’t free, you know they’re American
Yeah I don’t see those are negative honestly. The send missions inflated the numbers and I don’t love that you can get locked out of stuff easily but it’s totally fine
I loved FFTA and have replayed it multiple times. I’ve played FFTA2 some as well, which was definitely not as good.
I thought A was much better than the original. I didn’t even know it was “not good”
We often toast in the language of the liquid we’re drinking
Hm, I was gonna agree but I do like the Sonic movies. Half live action, half CGI. Speed racer was a gem, too.
Ost - Danish
Man, this was really weird to read at first.
“Schadenfreude is banned” by itself is a strange statement, but posts that are just schadenfreude is a great ban for this community. Thanks mods!
We live in not-our-native-language country, and I try to fail at using the local language multiple times per day. If it’s an easy convo and I succeed it doesn’t count for me.
It’s nice, pushes my language use out of its comfort zone. And when I fail I apologize and try to regroup. Definitely has resulted in some miscommunication lol but it’s gotten me far fast.
I’ve seen so many people here who know a LOT and are so scared to use it since it won’t be “right”
I agree that immigration is a big part of fixing this.
I think if the population (replacement rate )declines too swiftly, you have a lot of old people and few young people. At some point it become exponentially harder to even keep your last generation’s replacement rate, and you have spiraling population decline. See South Korea for the Speedrun.
If Japan steadily declines to 80M it could be fine. If Japan goes to 80M in a generation, that’s very very bad for the chances of there being any Japanese people left in a few more generations
Legal things would be a mess.
Your visa is valid until the end of the month. Halfway through the day?
I see this argument all the time. Forget all the tradition, “people like noon near solar noon”, all that.
Date changes mid day some places and not others would be a nightmare for so many things.
What’re you doing on the Tuesday half of June 15/16th?
I agree, if the US also used their tax dollars as intelligently as the Danish government does as well.
Seems like a pipe dream, but I hope at least parts of the US become more modern in those ways in my lifetime
It has no business being that good
I think Outer Wilds is the most unique and fantastic way to tell a story I’ve ever experienced. Truly open in a way I’ve not seen before or since.
With the banger of a soundtrack too, I just can’t bring myself to rate other games higher than it; even if I enjoy them more, Outer Wilds is probably the best game I’ve ever played.
Slay the Spire probably makes the list as it’s inspired countless tweaks on its incredibly balanced deck building experience
I pay quite a bit in Denmark, but used to live in the US.
I pay more taxes now (not THAT much more but definitely more). However I see what I get for my taxes here: healthcare, bicycle lanes, cheap and very good trains/metro/ferries/buses everywhere, etc., and sooo much support for people. It makes me proud to pay taxes here, even though of course I always want more in my pocket and I want more for my money.
In the US I hated the taxes because I paid more than rich people (as they pay nearly none) and I didn’t feel like i got a lot from them.
No problem with taxes as a concept, but I hate how the US uses tax money
In something like Denmark’s case, I could see an argument. In the US? Rich people pay nearly nothing, so I think forcing them to pay taxes is a slam dunk
