Also, last Presidential election, that age group had significant swing toward MAGA so take from that what you will.

171·1 day agoAnd we just had a post about how Linux has avoided enshitification.
Small changes driven by AI right now are hopefully being reviewed and controlled by experienced and knowledgeable senior developers, for now. Let’s see how long that will last before they stop understanding what’s going on in the kernel.

politics @lemmy.world•Trump’s Air Force One deception faces scrutiny over ‘decoy’ passengers
1·1 day agoAnd none of that has anything to do with a competent administration letting the journalists know they’re in heightened security mode and at least with the traditional media, they have a solid history of recognizing and keeping the information secret and not being on record.
What you’re pointing out, while may be valid, about telemetry or compromised applications, which you have no proof of being a threat here, traditional journalist, whatever you might think about their quality and biases, have and continue to have the shown their integrity about keeping information and trust with sensitive material, even going to jail to protect their sources from hostile administrations from both parties. TM and compromised data really have no bearing on what this Administration has done here with not informing journalists and government officials of the Presidents plan to put them in danger.
As for the inclusion of right-wing influencers, well that’s again on this Administration for including non-trustworthy “journalists” but even they are entitled to being told their lives are in greater danger due their plan to evade the threats the Administration brought upon themselves. If they cannot abide by established journalistic standards, that’s on them and the Administration and should not preclude being a decent human being.

1·2 days agoWhat a utter next Tuesday.
However I guess it can be frustrating to hear about others having all the sympathy in the world for him having cancer, even if you didn’t particularly like him, versus no one giving a crap about him literally dying on camera while being “younger” than Biden.

politics @lemmy.world•Trump’s Air Force One deception faces scrutiny over ‘decoy’ passengers
20·2 days agoSo The Daily had a good podcast about this and they brought up the fact that this isn’t the first time a Presidential detail has used a decoy, both Clinton and Bush used this. The biggest difference is that there was trust and understanding between the President and journalists and they were told about it before hand and asked not to report it and didn’t leave them high and dry unlike this miserable excuse for a fat tub of balding lard.
I doubt this would be egregious enough for impeachment since they could easily say it was due to extraordinary threats and could point out that this tactic while extraordinarily rare is not unpresidented as this moron likes to say.
Another article about Clinton’s decoy and being a decent human being about it. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2026/08/11/donald-trump-bill-clinton-switched-air-force-one-security/91254069007/

Games@lemmy.world•Take-Two CEO Admits GTA 6 Could Have Cost More Than $80, but Rockstar Chose Restraint and Overdelivered ValueEnglish
52·2 days agoSince people don’t read anything past the headline, which is why we can’t have nice things, in an interview the CEO started the following:
So, we’ve established an $80 price point and a $100 price point for the regular edition and the Premium Edition of GTA 6. And I think most people felt that if we wanted to exert it, we had a great deal of pricing power.
This is basically the CEO trying to justify the new, and very much sounding temporary, price floor for games. Taking what Nintendo started and trying to provide more bullshit to solidify the new price.
Probably going to be the new temporary price floor considering gamers are reportedly buying the 100 USD premium edition that has sliced content from the main game. Consumers give an inch, these assholes will take a mile and gamers are more than willing to take the abuse.

Millennials will be the next biggest voting block! Gen Y is pissed and going to change everything in the voting landscape!
So far, not a god damn thing. I mean, we’re not seeing record turn out outside of one single election and in the last election we even saw that millennials increased their voting share to Republicans.

Games@lemmy.world•More People Are Pre-ordering The $100 Edition Of GTA 6English
4·3 days agoThey’ve historically made a game with good writing in it, with good side quests that really immerse a gamer into the world and a lot of people like that style of open world play and those interesting side stories that wasn’t just superfluous padding that would give a player tens, if not a hundred hours, of just good fun. That seemed to be the draw for the game with just enough refinement of the original game play that was serviceable. Heck even I enjoyed GTA V single player quite a bit with all of the weirdness with Trevor.
I just don’t particularly like their online component where it’s all pay to win and massive amounts of what I would consider psychological abuse of addiction that they’ve devolved to and literally admitted what their target of console players was.

A good power supply will have good OVP and OCP protections to help keep the various connections from frying the power supply and hopefully save the equipment unlike a cheap one but at the end of the day cheap or expensive, power supplies are not pushing current over to the equipment, just responding to the pull from the equipment.
Unless this cheap power supply was shorted and just flowing current over to the GPU, I doubt the power supply was a major factor in this connector failing considering all of the information we know at this point.
