Even successful companies themselves take care in not putting all eggs in one basket on anything they do. Having alternatives is a life saver. We should ensure that we have alternatives too.

The fediverse is formed by a lot of servers that contain each communities. Each server still has some room for their own ways of doing things, so there can be nuances to be paying attention to.

I’m not sure that is as useful as it sounds. Yes you are trying to establish some pressure but then you might get lost on technicalities of their actions instead of focusing on the bigger picture.

It hasn’t gone well the times that I’ve said that it is better to not feed stray pets if you are not going to take further care of them. In the sense that helping the chances of more uncontrolled offspring just means more suffering in the end.
