Fediverse@lemmy.world•[Answered] Does Lemmy need a fork or a rewrite due to its maintainers views?
61·2 months agoLemmy works over ActivityPub, which is the thing that provides the federation, and what people has been accostumed to call Lemmy as a whole. But there is more software that works with AP. No need to create a copy, other software can do similar things (for example: mbin, piefed, mastodon, etc).

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How much are you willing to inconvenience yourself to save money?
5·2 months agoI don’t think that the question aligns that much with how I usually think, I usually think of spending as the inconvenience itself.

ADHD@lemmy.world•Following on things that interest you without getting burnt out
2·4 months agoThat’s why I do it like that, because I don’t want to pick something that I’m not motivated to do. If it is by obligation then there’s not much choice. But if it is for fun you can have more flexibility.

13·4 months agoThrough the last year I’ve been trying to have a very loose list of maybes, instead of real todos. I treat them like suggestions and try to not force myself into doing anything just because it is in the list. Every now and then I feel like one random item of the list is a good idea to take a look.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What would you do if you found an infinite money/duplication glitch in real life?
25·4 months agoThat sounds suspiciously like farm work.
If possible, just do the thing immediately instead of putting it on the list.
I’d put this one a bit in question. Maybe it is not something to put on the todo list, but worth it to put on a post-it just in case you find troubles along the way. I guess it depends on the task and the situation, but if you know that there might be bumps in the road it can be worth to have the reminder.
Now that I have a list I can consciously ignore it instead of thinking that I’m forgetting about it. Sounds funny, but it’s a weird peace of mind.

Lol, I see they haven’t improved… anyway…
The Dracula symbolism kinda puts an extra twist on it.

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK that JetBrains IDEs do not remove old share and cache files from the previous version when upgrading. Every folder includes a local LLM, plugin executables, and old search indices. They go unused.
