Like I said, I help design them. I’m interested to know why you think that. You work with them? How old are the ones you work with?
Big iron means a mainframe. The Ferrari of servers.
I design big iron. The hardware is great, don’t blame us.
Never did. It’s just more and more obvious with each new “feature” that it’s built for monetization, not for user functionality.
I love Obra Dinn, but not top 10 love. I think the fresh style in an industry of samey games using the same few engines made it really stand out for me. It’s retro styled, but also goes beyond that to show you it’s world in a new way.
If the art style doesn’t do it for you then you might not enjoy it as much.
I think it’s that, and something even worse as well. There are probably many well meaning people working on these things thinking they really are creating and guiding and intelligence. It’s an opportunity to feel like a god and a tech wizard at the same time.
Similar number of neurons too.
The Chinese Room thought experiment is a good place to start the conversation. AI isn’t intelligent, and it doesn’t hallucinate. Its not sentient. It’s just a computer program.
People need to stop using personifying language for this stuff.
A hotdog 🌭, has its own emoji even.
Casuals unite! Fuck it I’m just trying to have fun lol!
Hmm I was thinking maybe an old phone but that’s not that old.
Try charging while connecting. I’ve found that a low battery often seems like poor connection quality. The way it gives up when it can’t connect is very similar to just the battery dying.
What phone do you have?
How so? It disconnects? Or won’t connect to start?
I use an 8bitdo sn30 pro. Apparently I haven’t been using a good controller. Fooled me!
Well now I’m not a lurker… so uh… there…lol
Having worked for a couple chip design shops, and now at ibm… ibm is the one of a few companies pushing the envelope in chip design. You just don’t need what they make, so you’ve never heard of it.
Sumatra pdf viewer. Much faster than adobe ,and free.
These examples of soul sucking jobs will be the loudest recruiting companies, because no one wants to work there. They can sometimes pay well too.
Highly skilled people are needed in a lot of practical industries that pay a bit less (but still well enough). You just need to seek them out.
Ha! That went right over my head. Thanks for explaining.
