Depends on who responds. Some will just nod and inform the caller that they are indeed federal law enforcement, but others (who absolutely despise ICE as cosplaying wannabes) may decide that taking the actors into custody, even if only for their own protection if a crowd is forming, is the best course of action. If it happens enough, it should force DHS to direct agents to properly identify themselves, and even if not, some actual consequences for these thugs may discourage some from participating. And as others have pointed out, friction between law enforcement agencies is in the population’s best interest.

I take offense to this. Am I wrong? What can I do? Anything?29·5 个月前This is becoming more common in a variety of jobs. I work in tech, and have heard from colleagues about their experiences with nanny software. Without a union, your best bet is malicious compliance. I would start looking for hacker communities and posting there, because there can be simple but non-obvious ways to circumvent controls while still seeming to comply, which protects your job.

Emphasizes that all power sources have carbon and other emissions at some point in their lifecycle. They also levelize the emissions based on energy produced over the expected lifespan of the power generation station/solar panel/dam/wind turbine/etc, and nuclear power is down there with solar, wind, geo, and hydro. Waste must be dealt with, and the best disposal method is reprocessing so you don’t have to store it.
Nuclear semiotics is fascinating. I was very excited when I came across the Federal Disposal Field in Fallout 76 and found that Bethesda used the “field of spikes” design.

marine_mustang@sh.itjust.worksto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What reason do I express for changing jobs during my interview?43·7 个月前Hi, I’m a hiring manager so I do interviews and make decisions on new personnel. As others have said, simply tell the truth that your current position is temp and you are looking for a permanent one. As a hiring manager hearing that from an interviewee, I wouldn’t bat an eye.
You don’t need to give details on when the temp position ends, but they should want to know when you would be available for the new position.
Finally, I don’t think the answer you got is a sign to look for another job, that looks like a pretty standard non-committal answer for “wait and see”. It doesn’t raise any red flags.
