  • Project Zomboid. That’s the most recent game I can think of where I reduced the difficulty (and that’s coming from someone that has nearly 400 hours into Elden Ring). It’s not that the game is tougher than ER or anything like that. It has a ton of cool mechanics and detail that are really enjoyable if you’re into zombie survival games, but the zombies can really swarm you in that game and you won’t live long.

It also has sandbox mode where there’s no zombies and you can focus on farming, building, etc.

  • The area I’m in has skyrocketed and has some of the highest rent I’ve ever seen in my life (saw $5400/m for renting part of a house.) The folks moving here are mostly remote workers from what I can gather, so they basically make it impossible for other residents to afford rent. I’ve talked to waitstaff here that say they can’t even live in the town they work in.

I have unlimited and I’ve seen a few people take 2 weeks off consecutively. So it seems like the company is pretty flexible and doesn’t put artificial limitations on it. That said, I’m pretty sure even a month off wouldn’t fix the damage that’s been done to my brain from years stacked upon years of redlining it to write code and solve problems. I find as I get older I need more time off to truly disconnect.

They’re just going to move the goalposts on you again. Capitalism lovers seem to think that if it doesn’t immediately work 100% right away, then it’s trash. They provide nothing of substance while criticizing even the smallest attempts towards actual progress. “Capitalism works for me and allows me to buy pointless shit while dying for nothing, therefore no one should even try.”

It’s really up to personal preference but I’m a big fan of the metal unibody of Mac laptops. While my friends’ PC laptops plastic bodies were starting to separate and show wear, my laptop was still looking mint. That alone also helped determine how long I kept a Mac laptop going (I was on a 2017 MBP 13” up to just recently and the body is still near mint).

So while it could be perceived as a simple cosmetic preference, it was also about the longevity of the laptop’s use.

That said, I have an ASUS ROG Zephyrus that has a pretty solid body, despite being plastic. Some of them have gotten better, but a lot are still flimsy crap.

It’s the same reason I prefer the body of my iPhone, vs the multitude of plastic Android flagship phones I churned through back in the day. The G1 still holds a place in my heart though and had a metal body (and I still have it in its original box!)
