An unintentional one it would seem. Had no idea. Thanks for highlighting this.

Just a heads up. There is no way to export from authy. So if you ever want to switch apps for whatever reason, lets say they were bought by big evil corp., then you would have to go and regenerate all your keys. Where as a good app would let you export and import from anywhere
Can confirm, I use an old HP elitebook from work. Battery life is great, beats my wives new lenovo. More than powerful enough to browse the web and play in the terminal. Also only gets hot if I run a game on it; I wouldnt advise that though.
https://github.com/joshwbrick/podsumer?ref=selfh.st was featured on selfh.st this week. Can’t say I know a great deal about it, but might be worth checking out.
Take a loom siYuan, I ran it with docker. Went to it on my laptop and phone. As I was typing on one it was populating on the other, it also has a nice interface on mobile.
I’ll take a look at yours too, love trying new things
Less time taken waiting for your site build after a push, not as pretty though.
See, now i’m going to have to find another PC to install that on. Lucky for me I have 2 less things to install, now my notes are hosted on my server
Siyuan is very nice. Might have a play with that one before I invest any more time with trillium. Any idea if it is completely free, I can see there are some pricing options, which worries me a little.
edit: answered my own question, sorry
Didn’t know it could do that. I was exporting as PDF on obsidian, but never figured out how to apply a them with the export.
This theoretically sounds much better.
That is actually what i’m attempting to move away from. Mainly just less to install when I inevitably wipe my PC again
Also its good for work PC’s where they are locked down. Don’t get me wrong though, obsidian is great, just a little awkward for my current scenarios.
I agree that it could be nice to have an app that just points at your instance with a more intuitive UI.
I like the idea of using bookstack, don’t know what it is, but I just can’t get into using it.
Good old Cluley, he also has an award winning podcast, Smashin’ Security. It’s a light hearted take on recent security events. Its usually 30 - 45 minutes long.
One of my favourites
You can use obtanium to install from GitHub and f droid and more, it even checks for updates
Doesn’t Mozilla rely on Google for funding? Genuine question, as I though i read this else where on Lemmy
Aegis an open source, cloud free, TOTP application. You can create local backups and everything.
I found this after trying to export my keys from Authy, turns out you can’t.
If you know vlookup, you should checkout xlookup. Even more similar, relatively speaking of course. No longer do I have to count my columns
Fair point, I misunderstood. Thought you were asking for more general points.
As for enshitification, I suppose it started in 2015 when they were bought by LogMeIn (I looked it up), that’s where it generally always starts. Don’t know if the service degraded as I switched around that time. Though getting hacked twice in six months is pretty bad for a company guarding the publics secrets
They didn’t use strong encryption by default, Something about not enough iterations of whatever algorithm they use.
They also got hacked (more than once) , which is roughly when they announced the encryption issue.
I feel like they got bought by a shitty company too, but that’s beyond me.
There have been reports that some of these vaults that were stolen have already been compromised, though not sure if there is any proof.
At the moment just playing with home assistant.
You could try loop habit tracker on android. Fully open source. It wouldn’t be great for one off tasks, but regular stuff, it would be perfect
