Right, that’s their point. Chocolate chip cookies can be made to be chewy when cold instead of crunchy, in which case they’re still much better than crunchy chocolate chip cookies.

i make cookies all the time and the key is to cook them for 2 minutes less than the recipe calls for because they’ll keep cooking when you take them out and they’ll be just the right about of gooey and soft <3
Crunchy is fine as long as there’s a generous amount of chunky chocolate chips.
