It’s amazing that you posted this after having a fairly good explanation as to why it’s not a good idea to conflate too many things together.

If you string too many things to a cause you dilute all of them. Especially because MasterCard and Visa have nothing to do with what’s happening in Palestine so linking the two causes together just weakens both of them.

but Maeve said to call the senators about these, not mastercard. and you don’t need to call them about all of these topics at once either.

But the Visa thing is an international issue that can be dealt with by contacting Visa. They’re talking about contacting US senators, which is obviously not an international thing, it’s an American thing. I know a lot of Americans have difficulty understanding that America doesn’t equal the whole world, but come on.

Go do that too but don’t try and link it to this because it’s not even remotely related.

I don’t see how that makes the same method unsuitable. and no, I’m not an American, and I never have been there.

It makes a difference because it’s about having an effect.

American politics is really fucked, seriously it’s utterly beyond repair it’s totally corrupt. No one can achieve anything in that failure of a nation state.

Meanwhile we might actually be able to affect real political change here and I don’t want American politics all over an actual worthwhile cause.

If you want to advocate for American causes please go create your own goddamn thread, I promise not to involved in it.

You can replace congressional representatives with MPs or whatever is appropriate.
