How far along are you in the witcher? Combat is basic and kinda boring but what is stellar for me are the characters you encounter, their stories and your interactions with them; Random ones and the ones that have history with Geralt, people in this game feel incredibly real and the writing, voice acting and characterization are great.
Also the world, so grand and beautiful inspite of the horrors in it, man made or otherwise.
The game made me emotional so mamy times, there are some great moments in it… In short, there is a lot that makes up for the meh combat. I struggled initially as well when I first played it, but one I left the first area I started to enjoy myself. think it’s worth sticking to it.
Only around 1 hour I think. Part of the problem is the confusing UI and the not so helpful tutorial. I have lowered the difficulty but the tutorial tries to teach me everything at the same time.
I have similar issues with CP2077. I think CDPR is good at characters/stories, but not so good at introducing game mechanics.
Can’t argue with that. White Orchad suuuckss, but once you leave the area (thankfully is short) and the world starts opening up to you it’s so worth it, trust.
Combat feels clunky and slow until you’ve got some levels and abilities. I don’t usually uae consumables a lot in games because I don’t want my playstyle to be hampered by not having a potion on me, so I leaned heavily into the magic and it really made a world of difference for me.

I do like narrative games, and I prefer games with full voice acting with W3 seems to have. I will try it again eventually. Thanks for the suggestion.
