Some phones, even if they are turned off, still send telemetry data.

I use GrapheneOS and for safety reasons, when I know I won’t get a call, or if I have to travel somewhere discreet, I’ll use one :P Works well for me!

I can’t find anything other than redditors making this claim. Is there a better source I can look into?

I can’t find any articles on it at this time. However, apple recently made it so that find my works with the phone off. My phone gives me warnings about this when I shut it down.

i dunno if i should trust one of the agencies that makes it necessary for us to have a faraday cage to tell us whether or not we should use them.

            unless the device is compromised

yeah, we have no easy way of even being able to tell whether it is or not.

Right, but if it’s compromised what’s a faraday cage going to do? As soon as you remove it from the cage it’ll reveal your location.

i don’t personally use them, but avoid revealing your location when you go places you don’t want to be tracked. avoid spying on you on more sensitive times where you might not want to. take it out after you are done.
