Practically speaking we have to vote against maga (make america greedy again), but we need to work on a better alternative at the same time. False dichotomy is probably the single biggest logical fallacy plaguing the western world, and perhaps the US in particular. Don’t accept the tradeoffs. We can make the world safer, we can help the poorest among us, we can increase production, and we can improve the environment (not just continuing to make it shittier but less faster than we did before the EPA existed and calling it progress.) The money is there, the infrastructure (including to repair our real infrastructure) is there, the technology is here.

This is all possible if we fight corruption and bring more accountability and meritocracy.

(Sidenote: The only reason capitalism theoretically could/would have any advantage at all over any other system is that it places the smartest people, best capable of making correct decisions for the public good, in positions of power. We can see plainly as a matter of fact that this phenomenon is completely broken down today in America.)

I mean the choice is almost like x amount of genocide or x divided by 2 amount of genocide. We need to work towards ZERO US GOVERNMENT SUPPORT FOR GENOCIDE.

We just have to do better, and it starts with empathy. Because if you just don’t care that people, families and communities around the world are getting blown up with our tax dollars, nothing’s ever gonna change. That’s your money, it’s plainly stated on your paycheck how much they take out
