I felt the same but with people that had no idea how to be by themselves
I totally feel this lol. People / one person, one absolute moron for the ages, were annoyed at me for actually enjoying myself during covid. (i say people because online people also expressed this nonsense and wanted the government to just let people get sick so they could go clubbing)
During covid i discovered all the hiking routes in the city and became a lot more capable of travelling to places on my own (i was ~16 at the time).
It’s like a new little culture war between Andrew Tate-types who go “don’t tell me what to do!” and people capable of entertaining themselves without drugs and alcohol and other people.
You can do plenty of drugs and alcohol on your lonesome.
True! That said, I don’t enjoy drinking alcohol alone and the principle of “don’t do drugs or alcohol unless in the company of others” is a very healthy one to live by. Hell the doctors are basically like “do as much weed as you want as long as it’s with other people :)))”
Partying by myself…that is a real party. No pressure, all good vibes as I’m my own personal hype man esp while drunk.
Another way I’m a little insufferable but like… yeah the pandemic and quarantine sucked, but I read a lot of books, played a lot of video games, had a great online DND game.
Some people just seem so helpless and inept. They’d be like “I just need to see other people” and I’m like please develop some discipline.
I mean we are social animals by nature.
The “new introverts”, as it were
Involuntary introverts
Invintroverts, if you will
I struggled too. Since the last wave of cost of living increases these motherfuckers are all over my reduced-to-clear stickered items, and the absolute basic no-frills supermarket-brand essential stuff is through the fucking roof.
Flour and water, meemaw. Flour and water.
Yeah it’s a bit inaccurate of a meme tbh Food started to go up so much during + after covid that we gave up trying to keep track/stick to a budget
and the consequences of the Iran war still haven’t hit fully
Full blown shanty country
