Harry potter is directly responsible for being who i am today. In a family that taught the kind of hate that JK now represents, harry potter was a wonderful escape from it and helped teach me acceptance and comradery. That noone should be judged or excluded no matter who they are. And that you should always fight nazis, whether theyre magical or not.
It deeply hurts to see the author go the exact opposite way now. It really is heartbreaking. But it doesnt taint my experience with her work.
I wont contribute money to her ever again, but i still have my books and movies and such. Because its such a hugely important part of my life.
Also, as i always say, JK is a god damn billionaire(?) And it would have cost her exactly 0$ to keep her fucking mouth shut
The only way I’d ever be willing to re-experience Harry Potter is through those movies, as they represent more than just the work of Rowling. I do agree that HP as a work itself was good, which makes JKR’s bullshit feel like even more of a stab in the back.

So much was covered in it, human rights, and media/propaganda too.
“You’ve been reading Rita Skeeter, Mr Fudge” is a line that I hear in my head so often when I hear people speak hatefully nowadays.
She also covered how being a trust-fund kid makes you better than everyone else. Which was a little odd for her politics at the time.
