Look at what Hungary did. That’s why. They voted their way out of authoritarianism, so can we.

I mean the future isn’t knowable but they got rid of Viktor Orbán in favor of a pro-EU guy who ran on anti-authorianism, healthcare, and public transport. Sounds like a much better option to me. And they did it by quite literally making it too big to rig.

Promising then, but we can’t be for sure until time is in its grave. It would be nice if something similar happened in the States. But I highly doubt it. If anything we are firmly moving in the opposite direction straight into hell. Which brings me back to my original statement, why deal with any of this? Get the people together, kick all the corpo dick suckers out, and if we have to have a government (not sorry, anarchist) let’s at least force one that works for the people. I know I’m not the only one who feels like they just can’t stand this any longer and I am beginning to feel like the activism I do is meaningless. I won’t stop, but I need change. And good change, fast.

Election results in the US over the past 18 months do not support this.

At this rate this all depends on the redistricting maps. I’m not holding my breath with the admin is saying openly they will rig it and send their thugs to the polls

Redistricting can only help them so much. It will net them 8-10 seats if all states go through with it. The current margin is 5 I believe and the average flip for a midterm election is 27.

If you’re worried about elections, sign up to be a poll worker. The more eyes we have on them the better, and it’s a way for you to become directly involved in making them safe and secure.

Hmm, let’s see, one is a foregone conclusion desperately clawing to the oil it based its empire on. Very visibly losing credibility, power, and quality of life for its citizens. The other is an average country.

Yeah sure, you’re right. Theres no other way to look at it. The fucken empire of the modern age is exactly the same as a small state. Exactly the same.

What does not participating accomplish, exactly? Even if I’m unlikely to succeed, between a 0.0001% chance and a 0% chance, I’m going for the 0.0001% every time.

We stop wasting time picking the least evil and just do this to all evil in the country? Not voting doesnt mean we aren’t grabbing pitch forks and torches. Because its about time to do just that. The emperors can’t even pretend they have clothes on anymore. This is worse than Rome in the final days.

By your own admission you can’t even be bothered to vote, but you’ll absolutely for sure 100% immediately jump off the couch to grab a pitchfork and a torch to do whatever your non-voting wouldn’t do for you, all in unspecified and non-quantifiable ways against vague, undefined targets that clearly, even vehemently require the physical application of pitchforks and torches for positive, yet unspecified change, because “it’s about time” for that.

          Lol, okay.

Where did I admit that? You’re making shit up. I voted. And got punched in the dick by the democrats because they went all “WE ARE THE STRONGEST MILITARY, LOOK AT THE CHENEYS” come the fuck on dude it should have been in the fucken bag but they’re so idiotic they couldn’t understand people wanted change, any change, and they wanted it enough to harm everyone to get terrible change. Thats not my fault. Thats a failure of leadership.

What does not participating accomplish, exactly?

If the election is being rigged at the state and judicial levels, participating and not participating have the same effect.

Screaming at people to go participate, then blaming naysayers for the election loss, just plays into the Republican claims that they have a legitimate majority and elections are functioning as popular referendum.

In this context a “rigged election” just means trying to prevent anti-GOP voters from voting.

If you don’t try to vote you are willfully giving the GOP what they want without them having to rig the elections.

Either participate by voting or by burning shit down. But just not voting or doing anything at all is truly the most cowardly of options.

I didnt consider burning shit down to be part of participating in the system. Since the system was supposed to be the alternative option to burning shit down.

Because I’m a filthy coward who’s more okay with the potential extermination of the weak and cannot imagine the desolation this regime will truly being to my life than I am of any disruption to the status quo and also I know my nice life kind of relies on the exploitation of others so I would really rather the world not improve too too much
