SEATTLE – A consumer-protection lawsuit from Seattle-based law firm Hagens Berman accuses Amazon.com of collecting funds from millions of its customers in response to since invalidated tariffs, passing the buck on rising costs through higher prices.
I know it would be logistically difficult to give every customer a fair refund for tariffs, so I’d be willing to spilt the diff and say every non-managerial employee should get the tariffs paid back as a tax-free bonus.
Like most of these cases it’ll have to be done as a class action lawsuit at this scale. That means the consumer is going to get a check for a dollar and the lawyers are going to get rich. The consumer never wins.
