You are not even close. That’s like saying, “cows are spiders, because both of them are animals.”

They are both animals and are fundamentally different animals.

The parties are different because they pass different policies that have completely different effects on the country.

Conservatives remove civil rights from people.

Progressives protect and expand civil righta for people.

Those are opposite laws that affect the citizens.

Civil forfeiture:

under progressive law, you get to keep your property if the police arrest you in your car.

under conservative law, your property is forfeited to the police if they arrest you in your car.

In one situation, you get to keep your car. In the other situation, you don’t get to keep your car.

Those are opposite practical effects from the two different parties in the US.
