Those are mosquito larvae. Saw them all the time growing up in Florida.
I don’t think humans can get heart worms, but this is why you give dogs heartworm pills. They drink water like this when dogging around in the warm south and get the parasite.
Humans can get heart worm but we are poor hosts and the parasite doesn’t usually live very long. Also, it is a blood borne parasite spread by mosquitoes
