The fact that MAGA has been so quiet about legal slavery is a clear indication that they intend to exploit it at some point. I suspect they’ll use prison slave labor to replace deported farm workers, and incarcerate thousands of lefty protesters to fill the need.
Legal slavery is regularly used; especially on farms. For instance, Taylor Farms (the company with the lettuce making everyone sick) uses forced labor :/
There’s nothing for MAGA to change in that regard. That system is already running.
They can make it much larger and weaponize it. Right now it’s a fraction of our labor force, but what if it was 20% or more? What if they operated primarily as a way of punishing and torturing political opposition? They could punish a good portion of the country, and use it to scare the rest into submission.
There’s a LOT they could do to make it worse. Forced Labor under the 13th Amendment needs to be repealed.
They’re gonna throw you in jail for life no matter what. If you’re gonna do something… do something big
