The Carney government is being urged to expel U.S. ambassador Pete Hoekstra by an online House of Commons petition that has already gathered more than 200,000 signatures.
Well, it’s worse - in the same interview in which he claimed that it was fake news that he said what he did in fact say, he denied claiming it was fake news.
After numerous more diplomatic faux pas, he spent much of his ambassadorship (a position in which he is supposed to be neutral with respect to the politics of the host country) stumping for an almost comically racist neo-Nazi party, whose leader openly admitted to taking money from the Kremlin and claimed black people are genetically inferior.
Can’t imagine why Canadians would have an issue with him.
