I know most of you want to answer IGNORE REDDIT!!, WE ARE SO MUCH BETTER!!, USE ONLY THE FEDIVERSE!! which I do, but there are several problems with it:
the fediverse sometimes looks like a cult, only a marxist one: China and Russia are good, there are concentration camps in Ukraine, Ukraine belongs to Russia, like Taiwan belongs to China, Israel is a genocidal state, China is so much better than the US…
Some mods on lemmy show the same level of intolerance as some mods on reddit.
I stopped using reddit years ago but I still lurked because some communities there, mostly the non ideological ones, don’t have an alternative: on lemmy there are so many subs with absolutely no content, or one post written 4 years ago, 20 users and 1 visitor per month. That’s not an active community.
reddit won’t stop its enshittification but for the time being there is no alternative for the communities I’m interested in, mostly non ideological ones about medicine, nursing, philosophy, religion, dementia, autism, biology…
And I’m not looking for communities were medicine, biology or dementia are used as an excuse to rant against the current POTUS or to introduce me to the greatness of communism, I really only care about the topics I mentioned.
For some websites that require a log in I use archive.ph but I don’t see how this would work with reddit.
Any ideas? I’m not creating an account with reddit.

You can use redlib instances
https://github.com/redlib-org/redlib#instances
You can subscribe and filter out subs. Go into settings and you can set the UI to wide so text fills the width of the screen like old.reddit instead of wasted side padding.
And you can save your settings by copying some text that is generated to use across various redlib instances and have your subscriptions and filters set without having to set up it manually again.
