    That’s exactly what you’re supposed to do when you’re under arrest and being charged with a crime that you didn’t do. You turn yourself in so it looks better to the judge, then you plead not guilty.

      Even if you did do it, it’s a lot better for you to plead not guilty at first. You might be angling for a plea deal, or waiting to see if they actually have any concrete evidence, but pleading guilty and throwing yourself on the mercy of the court almost never works out in your favor.

        People seem to think not guilty means “I didn’t do it” when it really means “I’m not confessing to having done it (while criminally liable)”. It can just as easily be “I think you can only prove I probably did it”
