The case is because they initially did the fascist, and any doing of fascist comes with a free kangaroo show, because…
The case is not about him. He’s going to be found to be cleared of any wrongdoing.
What they’re going to do and why the appearance of being benevolent matters to the apparatus is…
… establishing the appearance that they’re the beleaguered good guys and there’s just too many immigrants for basic humanity and common sense procedural adherence.
Because they’ll be found to be in the wrong, they’ll appeal regardless of it landing in one of the shitty or one of the slightly less shitty Federal district courts, and then SCOTUS can expand their qualified immunity to include ruining the life of actual citizens willy-nilly.
Because they’re gonna need carte blanche to make more “mistakes” with deporting citizens as planned all along, as yet another ratchet in the slow build towards open and naked racism.
Gotta have immunity from mistakes when you start your pretext with immigration, before you build up to the triangles and star patches portion on all the undesirables.
The racism is just the lead in for class-ism. You better believe it, and you better believe economic downturns and events will widen the pool of the non preferred class. To eventually include near everyone.
This is not a dumpster fire, not a tire fire, it’s a landfill fire. And it just hit that radioactive material the air force dumped in there decades back then couldn’t find after someone was like, wait what? (That is a real thing, sw somewheres I think, NM maybe but forget. The fire is in the landfill, for years, landfill fires never go out because methane oftentimes. It hasn’t hit the radioactive material, but we know it’s there and that fire is there and if the two meet it’s not good.)
I don’t think that’s quite right
The racism isn’t a lead in for class-ism, it’s a distraction method. It’s an attempt to redraw the lines between “us” and “them” to create the appearance of a lower class
They target susceptible groups specifically in order to convince people that the rest of us are all in the same class. It’s an attempt to convince people that if they have any advantage in life, they’re on the same team as the billionaires
The distinction matters because it’s becoming less and less effective. Fascism has a short shelf life, because the solution it offers becomes an increasingly obvious lie. Material conditions become worse and worse until people can’t ignore their own problems anymore
Hatred is a hell of a drug, but at some point all but the clinically mentally unwell care more about filling their stomachs than shitting on an imagined enemy
I don’t think your point, which is correct, and mine, are mutually exclusive. It’s both a distraction, and class warfare.
Class warfare is the basis of all of this though make no mistake. Some of the rich want to overthrow representative government, and somehow think the dictators will stay on their side and make a prosperous society.
They are mistaken as you allude to with the fascism.
But as to hatred losing to self interest, I think recent history, the last 50 years, has putten nails in the coffin of that argument and then dumped it in the marianas trench. It could be that way, but only with real leadership, which we don’t have by design.
Yes. That is also implied in my comment, under a careful read. The progression is the same and has been there in the US forever.
Their dream model is:
Immigration - > Opposing Ideologies - > Racism -> Ethno state -> Enforced hierarchy on the remaining populationEvery single one of those steps are all enforcing class division. There isn’t any other war besides class war.
But the mechanisms the fascist leverages to achieve it don’t include them screaming it out, for obvious reasons.
Racism, is what made the centrist be okay with MLK’s assassination. His beginning to move the message from the racism cover story employed by the system, to the class-division foundations beneath, the reason he was killed.
I’m not entirely sure how to interpret your on fire analogy, except to agree that everything is indeed on fire?
Also pretty sure you’re referring to a broken arrow incident with the AF thing? Yeah, there’s literal and metaphorical nuclear bombs out there waiting for the fire to reach them, I can dig that.
First, sorry I must have come across wrong, I meant to just add to what you said not challenge you for not providing enough detail on race v class and such. I need word things in more clear ways, what seems clear to the author is often not to the reader.
The fire analogy, I have been calling it a dumpster fire, but it will burn for longer, so I was like, wait, what about a tire fire? Doesn’t quite fit though they can burn indefinitely I think. But then, I was like, oh fuck, landfill fire. They have them going for decades, some places are siphoning methane for house use from them.
And finally, what about broken arrow? Never heard of it. I only heard of this from a person, never read it, about the nuclear dump. It’s a person I did trust but have since learned is not reliable, but on this I trust him still.
No harm done, and I certainly understand a thing or two about failing to communicate myself in a way that is parse-able by others and retains my intent. I understand that all too well.
As for broken arrows: “A Broken Arrow is defined as an unexpected event involving nuclear weapons that result in the accidental launching, firing, detonating, theft, or loss of the weapon.”
The nuclear powers all have way too many embarrassingly stupid ones on record, given that you’d expect nuclear weapons to be the literal most important thing with the literal most stringent procedures for handling.
There was one in NM in the 50s with some limited contamination exposed in the local area, and I thought that’s what you were referring to.
Wikipedia has a neat list of both broken arrows (military accidents) and civilian ones, involving nuclear technology.
Oh yeah, the air force actually dropped two armed hydrogen bombs on North Carolina at one point. They didn’t go off but still.
It is understandable though, who hasn’t wanted to nuke north carolina at some point?
This guy knows his fascists. Excellent summary.
