    no, so many girls do – that’s totally valid – but imo it’s important to recognise why people focus on the misogyny – Hermione exists in the story to almost exclusively serve the boys (the one time she doesn’t ie SPEW she is mocked and ridiculed for it) – and the fact that she’s very competent is inspirational in a vaccum – but she still ultimately fits very neatly into her designated caretaker role under patriarchy – which is inherently regressive and misogynistic

    so I guess my point is that it’s still useful to admire Hermione for what she could represent while moving on from HP to read better written characters – eg Takver from The Dispossessed by Ursula Le Guin
