It’s long overdue. This should have been the response last year when the Pentagon started limiting press access and required journalists to sign a pledge to only publish pre-approved information.

It’s kind of a testament to how unpopular Trump has become that Fox News would join in on the boycott. I wonder how long they’ll keep it up.
In a show of support with the banned outlets, several outlets, including the Washington Post, the New York Times and the Associated Press, said they would not publish or distribute images taken as part of the White House photography pool on Monday, including the president’s departure on Marine One and his events at the United Nations in New York, until midnight eastern. In a statement, the Washington Post described the action as part of a “collective effort”.

Tinfoil hat theory: Fox is glad to have Trump off their airwaves for a little while because covering his events live isn’t a good look due to his increasing dementia and record low attendance for public events.
Fox News has two sides. Journalism and opinion. They spend a lot of money on the journalism, and they’re actually really good at it, because that drives the propaganda machine. They have to know which way the wind is blowing to shape their agenda going forward.
This is a self serving move. They want to always be shaping public opinion so they don’t want any press banned because they could be next.
