Overreacting much? Are we really that sensitive that they have to summon the ambassador for every asshole that makes a rude gesture?

Yes. Because as we’ve seen, sunlight is not a good disinfectant for this kind of thing. Because “sunlight” results in these ideas can get visibility and by association, traction.

Naziism needs to be stomped on whenever, wherever and however it sleazes out from the sewer. Karl Popper made this very clear.

This isnt very far from making a hitler salute, so no, definitely not an overreaction and much more than a “rude” gesture. Kicking out the whole team over this wouldnt be unreasonable. The group that uses this is categorized as a terroristic organization and is banned in many EU states.

To my knowledge, they already declared the nazi salute illegal in germany ( for good reason too ). Maybe they should ban this one too. And then maybrle the next evil symbol some other terrorist org might come up with. Slippery slope, no? Besides, the problem with creating a diplomatic incident out of some racist footballer’s gesture is that you’re legitimizing the terrorists, you’re telling them “yes your organization is relevant enough for us to notice and create a ruckus about it”.

Hmmmm no. Thats a stupid way of thinking.

I dont actually think the gesture itself needs to be banned by law (waste of taxes, because as you say they just invent new ones), but the people using it should be shunned and socially banned from participating in anything. And calling in an ambassador is perfectly in line with that.

They have murdered many people so suggesting they arent “relevant enough” to notice is completely absurd.

If a German footballer made the Nazi-Salute after scoring a goal in Poland and Germany endorsed the movement the footballer is a member of, would you still think so?

It is the right move. Everything aside, this is a political symbol that has no place in football. With everything considered, it is a symbol used by the extremist arms of a right-wing, nationalist party, which is known for its gang-like political killings in the 80s. Their ideology is closer to phrenology.

It is a fascist symbol and nothing else. Unfortunately it is not shunned as such, usually due to lack of official association, but definitely has no place in either an international display or for kids who have no idea about the history of those who use it.

It is obviously a reaction to Ankara’s shitshow, they conjured yesterday the German ambassador, and accused Germany of being xenophobic. Just to ensure that we share the same foundation, the condemnation of right-wing extremist gestures, is the opposite of being xenophobic.

So yes, that’s a necessary witchcraft to beat the gray forces.

No the germans didn’t summon the ambassador over the gesture. Turkey summoned the german ambassador cause germany wanted to investigate if the gesture was a symbol of hate (which is a big no no in germany). So the germans now summoned the turkish ambassador over the whole situation.

Germany supports Israeli genocide in Palestine

On that fact alone, we know this is just a stupid circle jerk.
